Following the footsteps of his father, Julian started his poker career at the age of 15 when he first frequented local casinos. By the time he reached the age of 21, he had been part of 25 final tables, which is no small feat!
In 2000, Julian Gardner participated in the World Series of Poker. Though he made a good showing and entered the main event, he did not end up the winner for the day. In 2002, however, he won a million dollars in the main event, finishing in second place. That gave him the distinction of being the youngest player ever to win that large amount of money in poker! He continued to do well in the World Series of Poker until 2004. In 2005, he did not make it to the main event but he still won in other tournaments. As of this year, his total winnings amount to more than 2 million dollars!
Aside from his actual playing time, Julian has other endeavors relating to poker. He authored a book, The Secrets of Online Poker. It is revealing of his propensity to play online poker. In fact, he openly states that he prefers not to travel to tournaments unless he qualifies for one online. In this manner, he does not have to spend a lot of money on expenses. Julian has also guested in some shows such as Late Night Poker. He is also part of the British team which won in the 888.com Poker Nations Cup.
At a very young age, some say that Julian Gardner has almost reached the peak of his poker career. He still has to earn a bracelet from the World Series of Poker though. He has also had a couple of money finishes in the European Poker Tour but has yet to win a title.
